Today in Politics

I haven’t posted for quite some time now due to personal issues plus the loss of my husband and trying to readjust but where we are today in politics has me very confused.

I understand that people wanted change and decided that in order to generate change there was the feeling we needed to go outside of the box and elect a non-politician.  Has that proved to be the right thing?  I have to question that as from what I’m seeing we now have someone in the White House who has no idea of how the system works.  There are procedures set by the writers of the constitution so let’s see what has happened so far:

  1. Healthcare – Trump ran on the platform that Obamacare could be replaced very easily, possibly in one or two days.  Did that happen, no, plus there was a committee of men deciding on what was the best healthcare for women.  That’s like a committee of women deciding that they would treat diabetes for women but for men there would be no treatment.
  2. Precondition health issues-let’s just toss that out as it would save money (of course it would as people wouldn’t be able to have health insurance continue so in certain circumstances that means death).
  3. Replace and repeal-that fell through and so they tried repealing first then replacing later, thus leaving people without insurance.  Smart, Not
  4. Promising to put coal miners back to work-that is a health hazard as it is proven that working in the coal mines subjects the miners to lung disease plus isn’t environmental friendly.

The point I’m trying to make is it takes a politician who knows how the system works and knows you just don’t go in as President and start saying this and this is going to be done and once they say it they think that’s all they have to do and it becomes a law.  Watching the debates should have clued the people the type of personality they would be voting for-either a politician or a name calling bully.  It has now become the “Celebrity Apprentice White House style”, firing someone each week.

I’m not saying we had a lot to choose from this past election but it obviously makes a difference as to the type of person we elect as president based on someone who knows how the system works as to someone who knows nothing about procedure.  A big difference between making real estate deals and making decisions regarding our country.

If the candidate isn’t willing to provide their income tax like everyone else sends up a red flag for me.

The things I mentioned are only a few but I listed them just as an example.  I’m hoping that everything gets under control for the good of our country.  We can have a lot to gain or an awful lot to lose and I hope it’s GAIN!!!
