Nail enters man's brain

An Illinois man is recovering after accidentally shooting a 3-inch nail into his head while building a shed.

When I saw this news topic I couldn’t believe it I thought it had to be a mistake, right, WRONG!!!  Even worse than being a mistake was the REASON they weren’t including the first responders was because there wasn’t enough space.  To me that’s the lamest excuse ever.  The first responders did exactly what they were trained to do without stopping to think of all possible risks/consequences they take being “FIRST RESPONDERS“.  They did their job and in the end lost 300 of their own. 

In a statement, Bloomberg spokesman Andrew Brent said “the commemoration ceremony is for the victim families”

Those invited besides the victims’ families were several politicians, including two presidents.  Politicians, did I read that right, yep I sure did.  My God how in the world could I forget that in our country  POLITICIANS  always comes ahead of everyone else.

Oh yes, no clergy were invited either.  The above is strictly my opinion with the exception of the statements by Bloomberg’s spokesman Andrew Brent shown with quotes…..flagranny2

2 years after my original post on Mandy Sellers who was born with a rare condition called “Proteus Syndrome”, which caused her legs  at one point to swell up to approximately 170 lbs = British 10 stones).  About 5 months ago she had her left leg (the heaviest) amputated.  One way to identify with this condition they say is to think of the story about “The Elephant Man”.   Mandy’s story is a compelling one and I totally recommend reading the above article as well as catching her story on TV this coming Wednesday…..flagranny2

Mandy said: “My life is better than ever before. My mobility isn’t as good now but I am getting better with it.

“I have been making myself physically feel better which is also helping me feel better mentally. I am really happy and at a good place right now.”

Elizabeth Taylor, the legendary actress famed for her beauty, her jet-set lifestyle, her charitable endeavors and her many marriages, has died, her publicist told CNN Wednesday. She was 79.

Taylor died “peacefully today in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles,” said a statement from her publicist. She was hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure, “a condition with which she had struggled for many years. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be.”

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Volusia County man with a gripe used a grape when he got angry, authorities said. Sebastiano Russo, 75, was arrested following the incident.

Deputies said Russo threw a grape in his ex-wife’s face and then threatened to kill her and burn down the house.

Russo and the victim still live together, but investigators said they were arguing about who would ultimately get the house.

Authorities said Russo had been drinking and became enraged before the fruit started flying.

On October 16th the world’s largest chocolate bar will be up for grabs in Yerevan’s main square. The Guinness Book of World Records certified the 9,702-pound chocolate bar at a ceremony Saturday.

A 6-year-old boy from China, who was born with 5 extra fingers and 6 extra toes, has undergone an operation to remove his extra digits, the Daily Mail reported. If you do the math – that’s 31 fingers and toes.

The unnamed child suffered from a condition known as polydactyly, in which a person has more than five fingers per hand and five toes per foot.

This condition can occur on its own without any other symptoms or underlying disease, according to the National Institutes of Health, or may be inherited.
In this case, the boy appeared to have central polydactyly, where an extra digit of a long or ring finger is concealed in a web between the adjoining normal fingers. 
The boy’s mother said he has been ridiculed all his life because of the malformation, but thanks to a six hour surgery at a hospital in Shenyang, China, doctors were able to remove the extra toes and finger

A Michigan boy reportedly has been suspended from school for curling his hand into the shape of a gun and pointing it at another student.

Erin Jammer, said her son, Mason, was just playing around when he made the gesture Wednesday, the Grand Rapids Press reported.

But officials at Jefferson Elementary School said the behavior made other students uncomfortable, and they suspended Mason for the remainder of the week, the paper reported.

School officials also told the paper that Mason had been warned repeatedly against pretending to aim his hand at students but continued the behavior over several months.

Jammer told the paper her son isn’t violent and doesn’t have toy guns at home. She suggested a less harsh punishment, like taking Mason’s recess away, might be more effective in teaching him not to make a gun with his hand.

“He’s only six and he doesn’t understand any of this,” she said.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  

 Baseball fans who sit six rows behind the third-base dugout at the Kansas City Royals’ stadium know they might have to duck a few foul balls. 

But a Kansas man says it was a flying hot dog, not a baseball, that almost put his eye out last year. 

John Coomer has filed a lawsuit against the Royals seeking more than $25,000 for injuries he sustained September 8 when he was smacked in the eye with a hotdog by the team’s mascot,  Sluggerrr.   

Coomer said the wayward wiener caused a detached retina and the development of cataracts in his left eye. 

The Royals declined to comment Tuesday. The team is looking for someone new to wear the mascot’s large lion costume, spokesman Toby Cook says there’s “no connection” with the hot dog affair.

Arkansas – Michelle Duggar 43 gave birth to baby #19 to the Duggar’s already clan of 18.

TLC says the child is in stable condition in the neonatal intensive care unit for extended care at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

The network airs the show starring Duggar, her 44-year-old husband, Jim Bob, and their brood.
It says the Duggars named their 19th child and ninth daughter Josie Brooklyn.

The Duggars’ first grandchild was born October 8, when their oldest son, Josh, and his wife, Anna, also had a daughter, Mackynzie Renee Duggar.

 STUART, Fla —  Authorities have filed another 90 charges of possession of child pornography against a Martin County man who blamed the crime on his cat.

According to a sheriff’s report, Jensen Beach resident Keith Griffin told investigators that pornographic images downloaded when his cat jumped on his computer keyboard while he was downloading music.

Griffin was arrested in early August and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Investigators filed the additional charges on Thursday.

Griffin is being held in lieu of $2.2 million bail at the Martin County Jail. He was not immediately known if he has an attorney.

Sheriff’s officials said a family friend was caring for the cat.

Essex, England, Steve Gator was walking home from work when a couple of “thugs” started shouting tauts and abusive language at him concerning his cousin.  When he confronted them he was hit so hard causing him to fall and smash his head on the pavement which obviously left him with brain damage. 

His head was smashed so bad that surgeons had to remove half of his skull with only skin covering his brain.  He is now waiting surgery to have a new skull plate put in. 

The kicker to this is the two “thugs” who were involved were not found guilty based on NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE?   If visual evidence isn’t enough then what would be?

Michael Jackson’s cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray, is suspect of homicide or possible manslaughter in Jackson’s death and could face criminal charges.Doctor Murray told investigators that he had given Jackson two  sedatives (didn’t say which kind) through the night  in an unsuccessful attempt to help (unsuccessfully) Jackson to get some sleep.  

The morning of his death Dr. Murray said he had given Jackson a 25mg dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol.  The toxicology report found other substances in Jackson’s system but were not believed to have been a contributing factor in Jackson’s death.

Along with Dr. Murray, cardiologist, sources say that dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein will be charged with medical malpractice.  Click here for full article
